Post-Dengue Autoimmunity

sciencedirect.com

After recovery from an acute Dengue infection, some patients may have persistent immunological symptoms for up to 2 years, mostly of a low-grade serum sickness phenotype (myalgia, arthralgia, malaise, asthenia, rash).  Such patients tend to have a robust humoral response, characterised by high levels of IgG against multiple Dengue strains, suggesting previous infections by other serotypes.  Autoantibodies to ANA, elevated CRP and immune-complexes are often encountered.
