The putative antibodies that are associated with Neonatal Lupus in the newborn are the ones associated with Sjögren’s Syndrome: anti-Ro and anti-La. Their curious names are purportedly derived from the first 2 letters of the first names of the index patients from whom the autoantibodies were first isolated.
