Genetics of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: Overview, Clinical Implications, Post-GWAS SLE Genetics

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorder associated with a wide range of symptoms and physical findings. The risk of developing SLE is, at least in part, genetic, but it is a complex genetic illness with no clear mendelian pattern of inheritance.
